My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spec is a sleek and handsome 4 1/2 year old, blue male. We really think his name is short for 'Spectacular.' And what a sweetheart he is! Spec is shy and takes a bit to warm up to people. He wants so much to jump into your lap but sometimes just has to muster up the courage to do so. The exception to this is the recliner! If you are sitting in the recliner, Spec is your boy! He will jump right in your lap and snuggle in with you without hesitation. His exposure to men was limited prior to coming into rescue so he is most comfortable with women.

Like most Iggies, Spec loves to burrow under the covers. He knows the command "get in your bed" and happily enters his kennel when his foster family is away, especially if he gets rewarded with a treat. Spec knows how to sit and has been very good with his potty skills. Anytime he is asked, "Do you want to go potty?" he runs toward the door and easily goes out. Spec has occasional mild seizures, but they are mild and infrequent, so he does not require medication. He absolutely loves to take a walk and is very good on a leash.

Spec is sweet enough that we think he could be placed in many different home environments, whether it be quiet or bustling with activity. He plays easily with his three Iggy friends in his foster home but we could also see him enjoying being a solo fur kid. As mentioned earlier, he is most comfortable around women but with time we think he could warm to men as well. Spectacular Spec is oh so sweet!
