Pixie's Story...
Pixie is about 3 years old, is house and crate trained and is great on a leash. She loves everyone that walks through the door so if you're looking for a guard dog, keep looking. However if you are looking for a social butterfly that is as sweet as can be, Pixie just might be perfect for you.

She gets along great with her two male foster brothers and adores the young children she has met.

Some of her favorite things to do are fetching a tennis ball and running through the leaves at full speed. She also loves to play quietly inside with toys and chew bones. Taking a nap on the couch with her foster family near by seems to rank as a favorite past time as well.

Pixie is an all around great dog that will fit into just about any active family.

Pixie is in a foster home, not at the shelter. Please call Karen at 317-698-3602 if you have questions or if you want to come meet this amazing dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Martinsville Papillon/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Dachshund for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Papillon/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Dachshund breeders who help with Papillon/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
