Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our sweet and beautiful Georgia couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she tried. Georgia is a 7 - 9 month old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd... this mix has grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, loyalty and super- intelligence. Farfel's rescues virtually every Golden/Shep that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great personalities and be kind and loving family members. Georgia has all these wonderful traits and was described by her Texas foster mom as almost PERFECT!
Georgia has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound…never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all…Georgia doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Georgia is so young, she's somewhat of a blank slate…open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Georgia and her family (as it does every dog and their guardians). Together they will learn the skills to have this sweet girl be a companion that is well-behaved (she's pretty close right now!) in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family.
Georgia tends to be a happy-go-lucky puppy at just 8 months old and 35 lbs (expected to be full grown at approximately 40 - 42 lbs) who loves life and responds so well to love and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Georgia gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's side for belly rubs and soft touches.
Georgia loves to come along..be it to a dog-friendly workplace, a hike on a beautiful Colorado trail, a vacation or just socializing…Georgia would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance to fit in just about anywhere.
We envision Georgia with a doggie-friend in her home. She enjoys other dogs and would enjoy lots of outdoor playtime. She'd be ecstatic to run and hike and get lots of time with a friend for the first time in her life.
Georgia wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone…she is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. An active retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Georgia would love the true friendship, companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog.
Georgia is in foster care in Boulder. We are currently setting up Meet and Greets and accepting applications and inquiries for wonderful Georgia. If interested in this very sweet girl who is truly an exceptional companion and best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
