Important Note

Jed is best friends with Sam. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Jovial Jed came to CAS in Spring 2013 when he was rescued from a hoarding situation. He is a calm and quiet boy who spends his days relaxing and grazing with his best bud Sam. Jed is very affectionate and loveable. His favorite thing to do is bask beneath the trees and soak up the sun. Since he is very social, Jed will do best with other goats and would love to go to a forever home with Sam.

Are you looking for a duo of goats that isn't pushy and love people? Then Sam and Jed are the pair for you! Interested in adopting Sam and Jed? Then visit our website, today and fill out an adoption application. Adoption fee for Sam and Jed is $120.

About Catskill Animal Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

Located in the New York’s Hudson Valley, Catskill Animal Sanctuary (CAS) is a 110-acre haven for horses and farm animals rescued from cruelty and neglect. In addition to emergency rescue, CAS provides innovative programs that educate the public about the sentience of farm animals, and the devastating impacts of agribusiness and institutionalized cruelty on animals, people, and the planet.

CAS offers weekend and special group tours, vegan cooking classes, speaking engagements, a summer day camp for kids, and a host of compassionate programming year round at its primarily solar-powered Sanctuary. Lodging is available on site at The Homestead, a beautifully-renovated 1813 farmhouse.

Since 2001, CAS has rescued over 3,500 animals, and has worked in tandem with law enforcement to bring animal abusers to justice.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask all adopters to complete an adoption application, specific to the species they intend to adopt. These can be found on our website at We then set up a meeting between adopter and animal to see if the two are compatible. We require a site visit to see where the animal will be living prior to approving an adoption. Things we look for include type and condition of fencing, size and condition of pasture, shelter- run in/shed/barn/stall, availability of food and water, type of bedding to be used. We ask for 2 references for all adopters. There is also an adoption fee for all animals which varies by species ranging from $15-$500.
