Hot Chocolate is a stunningly beautiful, one year old, female Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd mix weighing 50 lbs that needs a new home. Since she was a puppy she has lived on a big farm in KY and has been well trained. The problem is that Hot Chocolate is so friendly and social that she runs right through the electric fence surrounding the property and across a busy highway to get to where she can see children playing and the golf course on the other side. It would be impossible to put a physical fence around the huge property and Hot Chocolate loves to run freely off leash. The family is afraid she will be hit by traffic on one of her escapades, so they have selflessly chosen to rehome the pet they love so much for her safety. Hot Chocolate has learned many things; sit, stay and was very easy to housetrain. She gets along well with other dogs and always wants to play. She respects the wishes of the older dog in the family and does not bother him. She is a smart and a truly loving dog! She sleeps upside down in her dog bed every night which is hilarious! She has been in boarding and loves other dogs and gets along with the cats too. The cats have swatted her when she entered their space which set the boundaries. Hot Chocolate has never shown any aggression toward people or animals. She is not a big barker and she loves to ride in a car. We all love Hot Chocolate and need to find her a safe and active family with children, maybe a younger dog to play with and someone that will be home a lot.
