My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Zolushka/Cinderella is still awaiting her prince, or princess. Do you have the glass slipper to fit her?
This is Zolushka. Zo for short. She is about seven years old. She is a very special cat. Both because she is "special needs", and because she has "special spirit." Zo is blind. She has hearing, but it is not normal. She has arthritis, which seems to be pretty well controlled with some Arthro Gold type of supplement. She had a raging E. coli infection when she was rescued, which has been eradicated. It may, or may not, have caused her various physical problems . She was quite skinny and probably left to wander around alone in the world. And then she managed to find her way onto just the right lawn. Because that little resting spot in her day's journey proved to be where she was rescued, and where her life would start to change.
Zo started her rehab by lying almost perfectly still in the corner of a garage, 24/7. After all, she could not see, and she had probably learned to "lay low" for protection in unknown territory. She hardly reacted to people, or to other cats. She just stared into space, not that she could see "space." Then, she "got it." The waves of TLC she was receiving registered with her, and she began her comeback into life. Against all odds, she not only survived her near starvation, she slowly began to blossom. She began to rub up on her foster mama's leg, call out (loudly so she herself could hear) for attention and for cuddles. She started to adore her belly rubs, and sometimes to consent to rubbing noses with strange foster kittens, annoying as they could be. She no longer sits immobile. Now, the whole garage is her expanded queendom to wander at will. AND, she is in heaven when she strolls outside in the sunshine, in her pink harness, with her foster person at her side to protect her.
Zo has made slow, steady, and really quite remarkable gains. This cat has a strength of spirit that would be the envy of many people. And, now she needs a home. She will need a very particular home, but perhaps that home is yours. Zolushka, by the way, is Russian for "Cinderella." And, hers is most certainly a Cinderella story in the making.
