Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"My name is Copper and for the 11 yrs I've been on earth I have had as wonderful life as any dog could ask for. I had a family that taught me not to jump on people, not to pull on the lead, to tolerate babies learning to walk and crawl using my head for leverage.
"it's been a few years that My eyebrows and beard turned grey showing proof of my loyalty, heart, strength, patience, and willingness to please. Like all humans and dogs there comes a life changing day. on My life changing day, my family cried thru forced smiles. Before they left they tried to assure me that in no time at all I would have a new family who would love and take care of me and take my old bones off these concrete floors and maybe even give me a bed just like the one I got every Christmas. The truth was I knew my humans well enough that when our eyes met thoughts and feelings could not be sugar coated or even hidden. I felt their fear and I lived in the fear for a month in the shelter.
"I thought my mature demeanor and faith in people would surely shine thru to that family or that one person that believes in second chances even for old dogs, because their loyalty is undying even when it hurts for them to get up, tail a waggin, eyes asking, ' how was your day, I missed you every minute.'
My name is Tracy. I fostered Copper for a couple weeks before I adopted him. Copper unfortunately developed a few symptoms of separation anxiety after being abandoned by the only family he had known. I can honestly say that this old boy only wants to please you. He loves his naps. He loves leisurely strolls. He loves a car ride. He loves to lay in the sun on the porch. Please consider giving Copper the best last years he has. I soon will have to return to work and being gone ten hours a day is just too much for this ole boy who prefers a companion to share the days with. I have seen his anxiety issues lessen a little bit and I believe that when you build that trust with him he will only get better and better.
