My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SHADOW #6 is a 7 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 77 pounds. He is a very friendly dog whose tail wags as soon as he sees someone coming his way. He likes to retrieve and will wait after he brings it back for you to toss it again. He is more than willing to sit or stand by you and be Furminated and will give kisses as a thank you. Loves to go for rides. He would like a house and yard so he can go outside and play. . Good with other dogs lived with 2 others in his old home,. No cat history. Knows commands sit, down & stay. Pulls a bit on lead settles down after a couple of minutes. Keeping his room clean at the kennel may be house trained as he waits until he goes outside to do his business. Shadow is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (1/30): Shadow is great dog, knows all of his commands and listens beautifully. He is very sweet! Shadow is nervous around bigger dogs and would do best with a family that knows how to do formal introductions to new dogs. He gets along with the resident small dogs and enjoys their daily walks. When another dog comes along on walks, he is learning to sit and heal allowing the other dog to pass. Shadow is great on leash and doesn't pull.

Update (1/12): Shadow #6 has one week to go in the heartworm treatment. He clearly has mastered the staying calm and is a great lap dog. Even though he gets along very well with his foster siblings, he is meant to be an only child. He is just so sweet. He knows all of his commands and walks well on his leash. He loves to play, and he is a great snuggle bug. He would really like to find his forever home

Update (12/24): Shadow is a kind 7 yr old. He has moments which shows you he can still hang with the puppies. He is knows all of his commands doesn't counter surf and gives the best kisses. He greets all members and of his foster family as they are his favorite human.Loves a squeaky toy but doesn't destroy them. He recently discovered that he doesn't want to sleep alone downstairs on the couch and has been sneaking up to our bedroom and becoming a cuddle buddy. Shadow gets along well with his foster family's resident dogs, but does need a proper introduction to other dogs. He's recently had his heartworm treatment and will be laying low and resting for the next 30 days.

Shadow was an owner turn in to shelter. Owner went to jail and called and asked shelter to get his dogs so they would be safe. Shelter evaluator said Shadow is a "good ole boy" who like to be with you.

Update (11/07): Shadow is very loving and gives lots of kisses. He is great on walks. Shadow knows all of his commands and listens well. He is very sweet and is getting well with the resident dogs.
