Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SUMO: 9 Year Old Male Neutered Yellow Male 95 Pounds
Sweet Sweet Sumo!
Lab Rescue was contact by the Yolo SPCA and Sumo was due to be put down as he was deemed rescue only due to his age. Sumo is only 9 years old and has many years left so Lab Rescue decided to step in and bring him into our program.
Sumo had the same family for 9 years but they had to move and left him with their elderly mother. The mother could no longer afford to care for a dog and she also did not want a large dog. (She was concerned about falling down.)
Sumo is the perfect boy! He gets along well with other dogs, has lived with multiple cats and also birds! HE lived with small kids and was very easy and friendly with them. He is very easy to handle on a leash, he will pull but he has not been walked much over the last year. He will show off his sit for treats and he is just adorable when you bring out toys. He will do a very playful pounce to get his toys! He still loves to play. Sumo rides well in the car, loves to go for a swim and would be a very easy boy that would relax by your side after a walk!
We currently have him at our boarding facility and they say what an easy dog and Nice boy!
Sumo was an indoor / outdoor dog and is housetrained. He spent most of his time inside the home but loved to lay in the sun in the backyard.
Sumo has been neutered, has all his shots, he is microchipped, he has had xrays, he is heartworm negative and has had a full blood panel.
He is located in Petaluma.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
