My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie is Adopted

Dixie is currently fostered in Fairview PA and her adoption fee/donation is $250

Dixie is an approx 5 yr old female cocker spaniel.
She came to our rescue from a shelter in CA where she was facing euthanasia due to her being fearful.

Dixie is new to our rescue, she is super sweet, but also timid and fearful of new people and situations.
She needs time to get used to a person, at least a few days, before they can physically make contact with her.
She needs plenty of space, and a patient adopter to allow her the time she needs to bond to any new people.
Dixie is wonderful with other dogs, and pretty much just blends right in when put with other dogs.

We are looking for an adult only home for her, one with cocker experience, and able/willing to work with Dixie as needed to accomplish a successful adjustment to her new home and family.
Dixie does like to play with her toys, and will snuggle up to you once she feels comfortable enough to be close.
She is house trained, but not crate trained, she will cry if left in a crate.

Dixie is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines.

If you would like to adopt Dixie or would like more information on her, please fill out an adoption application
