Nash's Story...
Nash (AC#: 771): Flat-Coated Retriever-mix, male, weight: 46lbs, approximately 1.5 years of age. Intake: 9-24-15. Available: 10-2-15.

Check out sweet, gentle Nash…this adorable guy is wondering why his adoptive family has not yet come for him. We wonder too, because with his great work ethic, attentiveness to his handler, and his eagerness to please; this smart guy will quickly adapt to family life in a new home and is beyond ready to leave the shelter life behind! Loveable and loving, Nash is all about people. He delights in hanging out with his “people”, romping in the yard, and of course, receiving an abundance of treats. He will most assuredly enjoy learning new tricks, too. Friendly and outgoing, he’s a great fit for just about any family, and we think he will get along well with other housemate dogs too. Nash needs regular mental stimulation and a moderate amount of regular exercise. Healthy and fun-loving, he’ll revel in backyard games of fetch or long walks through the neighborhood.

Nash is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. As with all dogs, we recommend a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs prior to adoption. Direct interaction with cats is unknown and cannot be assessed at the shelter at this time.

Come meet Nash at Monroe County Animal Control located at 911 S. Raisinville Rd, Monroe, MI (just south of the fairgrounds). Kennel hours are Tuesday - Friday, 11:00 am - 3:30 pm; Saturday, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nash, a Monroe Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
