Meet Holly! This pretty 2 year old lab mix was surrendered by her family during a divorce. Her family had children, 2 small dogs, and cats. Holly was fine with everyone and very friendly. Holly is housetrained and is good being left out in the house when no one is home. She does not like being crated. She is ok with her foster family's dogs but she does guard her toys and food. She is high energy and would love a family that could take her running or hiking. She rides well in a car but still needs a little bit of work on her leash walking. If you are interested in Holly please visit our website for adoption information and an application at www.southernrootsrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Staunton Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
