found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Okay, I'm just going to come right out with it. I'm deaf. There, I said it. But DO NOT let that be the first and only thing you read about me, because it actually affects my life very little. I might not be able to hear with my ears, but that doesn't mean I can't communicate with you and do what you ask of me.
Honestly, people don't give deaf dogs like myself enough credit. Coming when your name is called is pedestrian and overrated and really not that impressive, if you ask me. I know SIGN LANGUAGE, so just take a moment to let that sink in. The best part about having a deaf dog is that you can sing your little heart out and even if you sound like a cat stuck in a bug zapper I'll still be your biggest fan. (Not that I know what that sounds like but I imagine it's pretty bad.) I even help my foster mom calm and train other dogs because I am the epitome of laid back. You may have to be a little patient with me when you leave me because I am afraid to be alone, but I take some medication that helps with that and I'm getting much better. All I need is a loving home with some hand-talkers!
More fun facts about me: I'm about 5 or 6 years old and I require a home with a physical fence.
Likes: Chilling out, being with my people, furry toys, apples, carrots, kids.
Dislikes: Puppies...the young'ns just have no respect these days.
If you think you might like to adopt Popeye or one of our other dogs, YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ONLINE APPLICATION at www.mtbr.org. It does not commit you to adopting.
Every dog adopted out by MTBR must be an inside dog. There are no exceptions!
DISCLAIMER: Dogs have been observed while in the rescue program, and appear to be of stable temperament. However, it is not possible to test dogs under all circumstances, so caution should be used in new environments, especially involving young children.
