My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING. WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING INQUIRIES ON ATHENA AS WE HAVE A SLEW OF ADOPTION APPLICATIONS AND ARE PROCEDING WITH FIRST BEST QUALIFIED FOR A MEET/GREET AND HMCK. We have a # of qualified applications we are screening for a good match for Athena. We had one adopter lined up but they adopted two lab siblings so we are moving forward with waitlisted applicants. Anyone interested needs to read this bio so as not to leave you disappointed. We DO NOT PLACE OUR DOGS OUT OF STATE. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CORGI/HERDING DOG SAVVY ADOPTER(S) IN THE AGE RANGE OF 35 TO 60 YEARS OF AGE. Placement is limited to CA and southern CA is preferred but if the adopter is willing to have a rescue colleague do a homeck on our behalf and the adopter is willing to drive down to us in the southbay of Los Angeles County, then that is doable. We do NOT PLACE ANY OF OUR DOGS WITH FAMILIES THAT HAVE TODDLERS THRU SMALL FRY. Well mannered children age 10 and up are considered. Athena is a tricolor, 14 lb., 8 month old spayed Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She needs a "corgi and/or herding dog savvy adoptive home and it is preferred that someone who will be open to take her thru basic and advanced obedience and perhaps agility and other fun things is what we are hopeful for. We will not place dogs with college students or under the age of 25. We also do not place young juvenile corgis with vintage seniors in their mid to late 70's and beyond. Athena is not good with cats. We prefer to place older dogs with seniors to match their live time fram. Athena is up to date on shots, microchipped and used to a crate. She is housetrained but doesn't show that she needs to go potty so may have an accident until a routine is established. Just like any other puppy Athena likes to chew on certain things, like her bones. But she is not a destructive puppy. She does like to dig in the back yard, but as I understand it that's fairly normal for this breed. She loves people and other dogs, and she is very friendly. Adoption process: completion of a pre adopt ap, hmck, trial period if in the southern CA area, contract and adoption donation.
