Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sassy is an all around great dog. She's potty/kennel trained and knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, come, and stay. Sassy's foster mom tested her with the Volhard test (found here: http://www.volhard.com/pages/pat.php) and she ranked as a 3 or 4 across the board. She was the best tester in the litter. She was even playing fetch at literally SIX WEEKS of age!
She's not only brains and beauty, she's also a complete sweetheart. She might be a little timid at first, but once she warms up to you and settles in she starts to shine. She is great with persons of all ages and loves to be around people. She is the most happy when she has companions to play with, human or four-legged.
Sassy is the perfect mix between calm and energetic and would thrive with a family that could give her the best of both worlds. She is approximately 8 months old. In the words of her foster mom, "Her ultimate goal in life is to please you and will let you hold her for hours. Love her and she will be loyal to a fault."
Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues! Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange home visits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so we will need to go through all the steps before having you meet any of the available dogs here in Wisconsin.
If you would like to begin the preapproval process, you can visit this link to fill it out: http://bit.ly/1IIlGFS
We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs.
