My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 11-6-15 Ziggy is a very sweet, little 1 1/2 year old pup. He weighs only 3.8 pounds. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Little Ziggy is a quiet, shy guy. He came out of a hoarding situation where he got little personal attention. He is now enjoying his new found attention and love. This smart little boy has learned, all by himself, to climb the steps to his foster parents' bed and has taken his place right near them at night. He is making friends with his foster brothers and sister and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is fairly quiet, but when he barks he sounds like a little mouse. His foster parents have found it pretty funny.

He is never far out of sight of his foster mom or dad. He is learning that love is there all the time. He is figuring out that it is nice to be held and cuddled, but it is still new to him and he is not sure about it all. Ziggy is not house trained so he has been wearing a belly band in the house. His foster parents are working on house training. Ziggy is young, he will learn. He is not yet leash trained, so right now he is only in the fenced backyard.

Ziggy is all up to date on his vaccinations. He will be getting neutered and a dental next week. After he is healed he will be ready for his forever home. Ziggy does have a grade 3 out of 4 luxating patella. At this time it does not bother him and no surgery has been recommended. It will need to be monitored. A chewable joint compound purchased at any pet store will be a good idea for him.

Because of Ziggy's small size he can only be adopted into a home with adults and possibly children over the age of 14.

Stay tuned for more information on Ziggy as his foster parents get to know him better and he feels more at home with his foster family.
