My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 11/06/15: Beau is a 6lb 10 year old Yorkie male being fostered in Nashville, TN.

Beau was taken into UYR from the Animal Rescue Corps puppy mill rescue operation in rural Mississippi. The Animal Rescue Corps in collaboration with law enforcement agencies responded to a tip from a concerned citizen found Beau and almost 70 other small breed animals living in terrible conditions. They were living in wire cages outdoors exposed to the elements. These dogs were rescued and brought to the safety of the ARC temporary shelter in Lebanon TN.

As a rescue partner, UYR was asked to assist with helping Beau and 5 other Yorkies receive continued medical care and eventually a new forever home where they will become treasured family members.

This poor little fella has spent his whole life living in the confines of a wire rabbit hutch without the love of a home and family. Those days are OVER! Beau is now FREE from that terrible life! Beau is receiving the medical care that he needs and is now on the path to recovery.

Beau's Foster mom says that Beau is very timid and scared (and rightfully so!). But that is okay, because foster mom loves Beau very much and is determined to make up for all the years of neglect. Unfortunately, Beau suffers from an ulcer on his left eye and terrible dental disease, so he will need a lot of love and support! He is currently being treated with eye drops and will soon have a dental procedure. The vet projects that due to extreme neglect Beau will likely loose all of his remaining teeth. Compared to what Beau has endured up until now, that is NOTHING and we know he will feel much better once the infected teeth are gone. He also needs to be neutered so these procedures will be happening within the next couple of weeks.

Beau likely suffers from a form of PTSD due to the life he has lived. We are hopeful that with time and the right person to show him all the love and attention he needs he will come to trust again. Because Beau is so fearful, we are seeking a certain type of home for him. We need someone who will be calm, loving, patient and willing to spend lots of time with Beau. No high activity homes will be considered for this guy......he needs a calm, environment without a lot going on. If you think you are the perfect one to become Beau's forever "person" then please apply to adopt him.

If you would like to show Beau that there are good people in the world who are willing to help him, then please consider donating towards his care.
