My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. ADR is not responsible for the health, temperament, behavior or placement of this dog. Listings are done at the request of the dog's owner and as an outreach and community service in hopes of finding these dogs a loving, stable forever home. Placement decisions are made solely at the discretion of the owner, and not Austin Dog Rescue. Owners are required to ask for an adoption fee from adopters.

This is the information that we received from Max's current mom:

Max is an affectionate, playful and high-energy puppy who is just over one year old. He is house-trained, crate-trained and knows how to sit, stay, come and heel while walking on a leash. He is smart: he has learned everything I wanted to teach him very quickly. He loves other dogs, and he'll play with them--It's adorable to watch. He is great with young children, and will not lash out, even if the child is too rough. Here's his only "con": Max's temperament is shy and fearful, especially around men who he does not know. He has bonded closely with the woman in our household, and he's fine with our 3-year-old son. But even after four months, he's terrified of the man, and won't get close or allow himself to be touched. He does the same with other men, and even female strangers until he gets to know them. I feel he could improve his fearful attitude with some behavioral training by someone who is patient and willing to put in the work. Otherwise, he'd be great for a single woman, or a single mother. Max is a petite little man. He's 1 foot tall at his shoulder, and weighs 15 lbs. He looks a lot like an Irish Terrier, except he has a small, stout build like a Norfolk Terrier. We adopted him from the animal shelter, so who knows? Please contact me at angelabethmorris@gmail.com if you want to meet Max.
