Hi there. My name is Toby, aka “Mr. Kisses” to those that know me well. I’m a 10 month old wire-hair terrier mix with a heart bigger than my ears. Like many animals in need, I’m looking for a fur-ever home and my friends at NBS Animal Rescue said they would help me do just that!
During the day, I like to play with toys (check out the FB comments, I LOVE a tug of war challenge too!), guard the yard from squirrels, romp around the house, and cozy up with some soft blankets. Like a a young gentleman should be, I’m crate trained, potty-trained, great on a leash and I know “sit”. Of course, I’m still a young’n and like to bark sometimes-esp at the cat in my foster home. We get along, but she doesn't want to play with me!? Oh, and I should mention that my new home must appreciate doggy kisses. I can’t help myself, I just love sharing all of my affection with people and other dogs that I trust. Although I have plenty of great qualities, it is very important that I have a home that has mature kids (12 years+) as lots of running around and sudden movements makes me really nervous and scared! I’m not very big, so I am sure you can understand why that is a requirement.
It has been getting chilly out, and I definitely don’t mind little sweaters to help keep me warm- I even will put my head through the neck hold for you like a little champ. More so than cozy threads, I love to snuggle up on your lap or shoulders. My foster mama says I’m a “parrot-dog” when it comes to cuddling up for a movie. In fairness, it keeps me warm and means I get to stay close with my favorite people.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.
3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
