My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear is a 6 yr. old male lab mix. He is half of a bonded pair with Duke, an 8 yr old male Golden Retriever.

Bear is a typical Labrador, happy and energetic. He gets so excited that he needs to be reminded not to jump up. Bear loves to wake you up in the morning with a smile and lots of tail wagging. He loves snacks, but is working on being gentle when taking them from your hand - he just gets so excited!

Bear can walk and hike about seven miles and still be ready to go for more. Bear likes to snuggle and isn't afraid to come up to you and ask for snuggle time. He seems to want to be social with bigger dogs, but small dogs aren't really of interest to him. Bear loves attention from people. A belly rub or scratches behind the ears are always welcome. Bear has not been around small kids. Bear is very strong and is working on not pulling when out on a walk. Bear is a sweet dog ready to love!

Duke and Bear are quite the pair. They love being together, but they do both enjoy their own special attention time. When they are separated, Duke will bark and Bear will whine. Sometimes they have to be told to settle down because they are big boys and do not realize how rough they are with one another. Duke will often give his little brother a lick or two and Bear likes to snuggle up against his big brother.

Duke and Bear can be walked together but they walk at different speeds. Duke likes to take it easy and Bear is easily distracted. Bear will pull if not reminded to slow down. Both dogs love being outside. Duke needs to be walked separately for now because of his heartworm. They will protest the separation with a bark or whine but will eventually settle in order to get out and exercise.

Would you open your home to these wonderful seniors?
