found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
There aren't enough good things to say about sweet, wiggly Rogen! We told Rogen he could be whatever he wanted to be, and he said he liked the sound of "Irish Wheathound," so that's what we're calling him! This happy puppy may be a whole 1 year old, but he sure acts like a big baby! Rogen sometimes wags his tail so hard that it hits him in the ribs, over and over and over. Rogen is good with other dogs and loves to be around them, but it takes him a long time before he wants to play with them. When his foster brother tried to play with him, for a whole week Rogen just ran from him! After about a week he realized that wrestling was not scary and is just now starting to participate. We told Rogen that since he's 60 pounds, he doesn't need to be afraid to play. Sorry to break any hearts, but this big mush does shed. Rogen has endless energy and would love a fenced yard and an active family, preferably only with sturdy kids who can withstand his happy wagging tail (it hurts!). Rogen adores children and is very gentle with them, but might knock them over by accident.
Rogen needs some confidence and manners, but his disposition is amazing. The only sound you'll hear from him is a happy whine and the banging of his tail against the side of his crate when you come home from work (and he never has accidents in his crate!), and maybe a bark when a visitor comes inside, but as soon as they say his name, he knows they're a potential new best friend! Rogen will do best with positive reinforcement training, as he is very submissive.
All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
