Fiona Leona's Story...
This sweet little girl comes with a name bigger than she is. As the smallest resident at PALS, Fiona Leona stands her ground against creatures of all species bigger than her. She is a talker and will let you know when she wants attention. This means it's time for her favorite activity: snuggling up with you, preferably under a blanket. The warmer and cozier, the better. Fiona Leona would make a wonderful companion for anyone who wants a tiny dog with a giant heart.

You can visit me during open hours on Saturdays from 10am-1pm or email to make an appointment for another time. Please see our website at palspetsia.com for adoption fees and other information!

The PALS shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona Leona, a Grinnell Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Grinnell, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Grinnell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grinnell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grinnell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grinnell paves the way for another one to be saved.
