Ducky's Story...
Meet Ducky! He is a charming, easy going, adorable senior shih tzu we rescued after his owners surrendered him to a shelter b/c they "did not have time for him"-sigh. This sweet, little 14 lb boy is as easy going/go with the flow type of guy as they come! He's happy to be held in your arms like a baby, nap in a cozy dog bed, or go for walks. He gets along great with the dogs in his foster home and has zero issues. He is house broken, current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He has a heart murmur but does not require any medication for this. We LOVE Ducky! Apps available on our website at www.apurposefulrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ducky, a Los Angeles Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
