"Today, I will say my prayers again.
I will give thanks that I’m not in the awful places I’ve been.
At one time, I was stuck at the shelter; I was just skin and bones.
You could count each rib, as I was not fed in my former home.
My empty stomach ached, and my heart was just broken.
I just wanted to hear the words “you’re worth it”, gently spoken.
As time went by, I would tuck my tail and cower to cope.
One day, a rescue came and they promised to give me hope!
With them, I found refuge, and a full bowl of food.
I learned kindness and patience, and how to snuggle too.
As it turns out, I’m quite the good girl.
I’m quiet, potty trained, and genuine as a pearl.
As good as I am, I have not found a home…
I do not have a family to love, and call my own.
I will still need patience, as I can be very shy.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 14 yrs or older.
- Patient dog experienced family willing to let Lucy learn to trust you.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
