Nigel's Story...
Nigel is a very sweet and special boy. At 12 weeks old he was found with his 5 brothers and sisters, living underneath a collapsed shed on someone’s property. They were all terrified of people so we had to catch them over the course of a week. Once caught we soon saw that they were very skinny, covered in fleas and ticks, and full of worms. They have been to the vet and are well on their way to being happy healthy puppies!

Nigel loves to play with other dogs and is very curious about cats. He also loves people but is still a little nervous around them so he will need someone to be very patient with him while he learns that people are not here to hurt him. He defiantly needs a very special home.

Nigel is currently in the process of getting all his puppy shots and will soon be neutered. His vetting will be complete in mid December but he is available to "Foster to Adopt" which means he can go to his forever home while he's still receiving his vet treatment under the rescue and once his vetting is complete, we will complete his adoption paperwork.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nigel, a Lakeland Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Lakeland, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Lakeland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lakeland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lakeland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lakeland paves the way for another one to be saved.
