My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Pyr fans, my name is Gus. I am looking for my forever home. I am 7 years young and about 130 lbs. I love all people from children to adults. I also get along well with other dogs and those little furry things called cats. At my previous home I was outside most of the time, so although I am an indoor dog now, I like being outside in a fenced yard and going for lots of walks.

Like all Pyrs, I'm sometimes capable of barking at night, but in my defense I feel there is a good reason for doing that. I like to sleep in a room with my people and I like a cozy safe spot. Guess we'll work that out when I come to your home.

Did I say I like attention? I just can't seem to get enough of it,and love hearing what a handsome guy I am. Should you grow tired of adoring me, just put my paw down and ignore me for a minute. I get it.

Because I am a big tall Pyr I am capable of counter surfing and opening cupboards. That is why NSGPR always recommends dog proofing a home just as it's done for toddlers. Set me up for success by having food and such out of reach.

I need to say one more thing that weighs heavily on me, it actually makes me kind of sad. So many people are just interested in the young, silly (in my mind), energetic dogs. I have my dignity, I am a majestic, calm Pyr that deserves a forever home too. Don't get me wrong, I still like to play, have fun, go for walks, and be adored. Will you please open your heart and home to me? I sure hope so because I have a lot to offer you. Thank you, Love Gus 💜
