My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheyenne is a 2 year old Husky mix we pulled from the local high kill shelter and was heartworm positive. This girl is special. She needs a home that is going to understand her. She loves people but doesn't enjoy being on a leash around another dog. It literally terrifies her and she becomes defensive. I don’t know what she has went through but she just needs to feel safe. She will walk some but then just wants to hold on to you and you reassure her she is ok. When she is home and knows she is safe, she just stays near you and will go lay down or check out her surroundings. She needs a home that isn't up for taking her on trips. She’s a home body and taking her away makes her uncomfortable. She must have been thrown around a lot or dumped and she craves safety. This girl is fantastic..she’s so sweet and when her personality comes out ..it is sweet watching her prance around. She adores children, Cheyenne just follows my daughter around and lets her do anything she likes. It would be good for Cheyenne to be the only dog or with another dog that isn’t over bearing. She will play some but she still is unsure if the other dog wants to play or fight, so she will become defensive. She has never just attacked a dog. Her hair just stands and she will growl until she knows the dog will not cause harm. Cheyenne is a wonderful girl, it will just take an understanding person to be as loyal and caring to her as she will be to them.

Cheyenne is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and on monthly preventatives.

** Cheyenne is being fostered in Tennessee. We do transport out of state but you would not be able to meet her prior to adoption. We know it is difficult not meeting the dog before you make a decision but we will do everything possible to make sure she is the perfect match for you and your family. We will be with you every step of the way.
