My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy
Nickname: Queen B
Current Location: Maple Ridge

The Basics:
Age: 2yo
Breed: West Highland Terrier/Corgi
Body Type: Fit (22lbs)

My Story: Just like Adele says: “we could have had it alllllllllll!”

Well I thought I had it all and I was wrong. When my favorite person left me (left me!!) on my own, I was forced to find myself again and it's been a real struggle.

I'm training with some special folks to work on my anxiety (even taking some meds) to try and overcome the fear I have of being alone. How can you blame me? They left me alone!

I'm very sweet once you get to know me and I do like to play. I’ll need a family prepared to work on creating some distance as I'm admittedly a little needy and would like to be with you ALL the time. But I know there’s that special someone out there who may want just that! Have you seen my face? I’m pretty darn irresistible.

I fall in love fast and will bond really quickly. I like older kids and don't actually mind cats; they're kind of cool…I guess…for cats. Squirrels, well, that's a different story!

When I was first found I wouldn't go into my crate and would really get scared of being left alone for any period of time. With the help of my foster and Wenly's (my trainer),I’ve realized that the crate is my own personal den (who knew?) and that my people DO come back. I will need someone committed to making me aware of this again (and again) in my new home. The payoff will be worth it, because baby, I’m worth it!

Perfect Match: A retired person/couple or someone that works from home. I like to be the centre of attention and would be happy not sharing you with another dog. Older kids are all right, but I’m pretty impartial.

Ideal Date: A walk where there's lots of squirrels to watch and chase. I love the outdoors and exploring. Then some baking, I love biscuits!

Funny Quirk: Guilty Pleasure: SQUIRRELS- I just don’t get em’.

Future Plans: When I say I’m looking for my forever family, I mean forever this time folks. I deserve it. I don't want to be your right now dog - I want to be your forever dog. Your one and only girl. (Cue “My Girl” song playing in your head as you read this.)
