My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rio was a stray. He was found hiking along the river walk, and looking a bit worse for the journey. Much to Rio's delight, some savvy walker aware of the Arizona Chihuahua Rescue program convinced Rio he'd walked more than a mile in his paws and that he would enjoy kicking his feet up for a while. We have tried every resource known to us to no avail to find a lost owner to go with our lost little boy Rio. His picture is in so many places he could be a celebrity or a politician! Rio is a very sweet boy, but he is still a little afraid, and prefers that human's reserve their touching to small doses while he learns to trust us. He is getting better though, and we fully expect you will be able to hold him and snuggle him one of these days real soon. Especially since he's such a young pup! Our vet thinks he's only about 12 months old. He has been neutered, has a chip and is up to date on his shots. He uses the doggie door, but will use a potty pad if you don't have a dog sized door in your home.
