Hey I'm Koda! I'm about 2 years old and weigh about 12 lbs. I'm a cool and quirky little guy looking for a very special home. I need an adopter who has experience with nervous dogs and who will be patient with me.
I am housetrained and cratetrained. I will do best in a home without children, in fact I would prefer a quiet home with a single person or a couple. I can be shy of people that I don't know especially if they try to touch me but I am working on trusting people and my foster mom says I've really come a long way. It's all due to cheese! It really helps if you give me really good treats like cheese!
I am kind of a klutz (especially on laminate floors) and sometimes in my hurry to get places I may slip but that doesn't slow me down one bit. I just pick myself up and keep right on going! Because I am not always good on my feet, I'm not planning on doing any dog sports, however an obedience class would be wonderful to help me get used to people and new places. I also like to spin in circles- counter clockwise circles only! Never clockwise. I told you I was a quirky guy!
I am considered special needs as I've had a few seizures but now that I am on medication the seizures are very rare and very short. I am also taking supplements to help improve my liver. The vets have checked me out and haven't been able to find anything to explain the seizues or liver results. I just think it makes me interesting and unique!
I like playing with toys and love running around the yard with other dogs or even alone. Check out my video. I'm the one doing the chasing. :) I am a very busy boy and am almost always on the go. I would do best in a home that has a fenced yard that I can run around in. I like to do that alot! I probably shouldn't live in a condo either as sometimes I do make noise.
I am good with other dogs though when a new dog comes to my house, I may need supervision and a slow introduction to them until I figure out that it's ok for them to be there. I haven't met any cats but my foster mom thinks I would be a "cat chaser" so I may be best to be in a home without cats.
I have the softest most beautiful coat just perfect for cuddling. I will need regular grooming to keep my coat free of matting and I'm learning that being groomed is okay. I love to cuddle and be petted and once I know I can trust you and I would love to cuddle with you! Are you the right match for a unique little guy like me?
