Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tomas is a wonderful boy with a great personality and a heart ready to love. Although he had a tough life, he opens his heart quickly and hopes people will return the favor. He loves to cuddle with his foster parents and wants to be with you whenever he can.
Tommy is showing his loving personality more each day. His favorite place to be is cuddled up in the bed or the couch with his foster dad. He follows his foster parents around the house wherever they go, watching them adoringly, hoping to get love and attention.
Whenever they leave the house, he loves to come along. He will jump right in the backseat of the car and lay down. Going to the store is fun because he always gets lots of attention. (Check out this Video of Tomas at the Cookie Bakery: https://youtu.be/HUH-TipRXJA)
The dog park can be intimidating when dogs get in his face, but he loves trotting around. He has even begun to initiate play with other dogs (even ones he has never met before).
Once he learns to trust them, Tom loves other dogs, and often cuddles with his foster sister Beauty, but he does get nervous around hyper dogs that get in his face, so he would like having a calm canine brother or sister. However, Tommy can be an only dog. He often begins playing with his toys alone, throwing a toy for himself to chase.
Tommy does not even seem to notice his feline foster sister, Mitten, and does great with cats in general. If Mitten runs, he will chase her, but only to find out what she is doing. He is great about knowing his boundaries, so he seems to get along with most everyone.
Tom is low energy and spends most of his time lounging, but he does enjoy patrolling the fence line to ensure that his people are safe.
Although he would never harm anyone, he does growl when he feels that a dog or human is impeding on his personal space or makes him nervous. He can be easily redirected though if you notice him getting nervous.
Children’s volume and speed of movement reminds him of times in which he was abused, and this causes him to live in a constant state of fear. Therefore, he cannot live in a home with young children. He would consider a home with younger teens who were calm and dog savvy, someone who could understand his growl is not mean but shows his fear and insecurity.
Tomas is five years old. He is around 45 pounds. He is ready to find his forever home. Are you the home he has been searching for?
