Scout is a real nice guy, both his owner and his long-term companion/dam passed away last summer. He could use the stability of a new family.
~He is an intermediate level trail horse. Moves off easily to light aids and neck reins. Meets obstacles in the woods, easily steps over, not excitable. A nice relaxed ride.
~He's a real nice guy, sweet, 16/17 yr old, 14.3-15 hh. Appaloosa gelding.
~The trade-off for this great package -- Needs to be shod in front, shoes with pads are the best choice as he has a history of laminitis. He'll need an adopter who can manage him properly - dry lot or low grass turnout, not a lot of sweets, regular farrier care to keep his feet trimmed and shod to maintain a short break over.
Radiographs available in his dedicated photo album:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scout, a Perrineville Appaloosa was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Appaloosa for sale in Perrineville, or seeking a Appaloosa from a breeder in Perrineville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Perrineville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Perrineville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Appaloosa breeders who help with Appaloosa rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Perrineville paves the way for another one to be saved.
