My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Winter.  Winter is a female 7-8 year old Border Collie.  She has a bald face (all white) and is a smooth coated recessive red and white beauty with red merle spotted ears.  Winter came to us via the shelter where she was listed as an Australian Shepard.  The good folks at Aussie Rescue So. Cal. alerted us of her, as she was at risk of being euthanized.

Winter was frightened when she first came to our rescue, and she would just shake.  She has now settled into the routine, and she is coming to life.  She woofs with glee when she sees you, and just loves attention.  She walks well on a leash, and is well socialized with other dogs.  She plays well with 2 other male yearling pups, and is dominant over them in a motherly way.  She certainly has them whipped into shape with their doggy manners, and makes them mind their P’s and Q’s.

Winter has medium energy and would love nothing more than to go for walks and just snuggle up next to you.  Winter rides well in the car, appears to be housebroken, walks well on a leash, and knows her basic obedience.  She would make a good couch potato watching TV with you.  We believe that Winter would make a fine candidate for the first time Border Collie owner.  She has a very even temperament and will make a very nice loyal K9 companion.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
