My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LYNX is a 2 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 98 pounds but needs to lose 15 or 20 of those pounds. He is a handsome and friendly guy that is looking for a family to help him recover from ACL surgery and give him the love and attention he deserves! He is quite lovable and has a lot of personality. He is almost always happy. He enjoys sitting on people's laps and is just a total joy. He is house trained. He is good with other dogs. Lynx is good with children and approved for kids ages 8+.

Update (2/8): Lynx had successful surgery on the 2nd. He will start with rehab this week.

Update (1/15): Lynx is doing wonderfully! He is such a pleasure to foster, just an overgrown, squishy marshmallow! Lynx is super friendly, his tail rarely stops wagging. He is house broken, crate trained (I'm not sure he actually needs to be crated but we do so anyway) and walks nicely on the easy walk harness. I feel he could benefit from some basic obedience training. He doesn't seem to know any commands although he is a good listener.

He does like to table/counter surf (we are working on breaking him of this habit) and when he gets excited and wants to play he will bark at you. Other than that, he is a quiet boy other than his grunts and groans. He loves toys and has not chewed a single thing although in excitement he will pickup anything in his mouth. He adores the kids and he feels strongly that he was meant to be a lap dog despite his 100 pound size! He is a tea cup poodle trapped in a pony sized body! Lynx is a snuggly boy and a kisser, he doesn't always follow you around but would prefer to be near a person. He gets along great with the resident dog although he basically ignores her except to give her sniffs and kisses and steal toys from her. He does great in the car and he will be starting his swim rehab today!! He will make a great addition to any family. I would recommend he go to a family with children. I don't think a fenced yard is necessary. Someone with time to walk and play with him would be ideal. Once his legs are headed I suspect he will be a lot more exuberant!!

Update (01/12): Lynx is a big yellow marshmallow and an absolute doll baby! Important facts about Lynx: his tail is registered as a lethal weapon (LOL), he believes he is the size of a teacup and will gladly share your lap, he LOVES to give kisses, he enjoys playing with toys and his entire body wiggles with happiness anytime he sees you! Lynx is currently recovering from ACL surgery in his right hind leg (done on 12/10), and he needs to take it easy for the next few months. He will have ACL surgery in his left hind leg in February. He has lost 9 pounds and now weighs 87 and is feeling good! He is getting range of motion exercises twice a day and he needs to go out on a leash. He's not allowed to jump, run, or play rough with other dogs. He's not allowed to do stairs at this point. Once he gets over the recovery period, this is going to be a fun dog to have around.

From foster:
Lynx is a wonderful big boy. He is house trained and sleeps quietly at night on the dog bed. He likes to be with his foster mom but does fine in the house on his own for a few hours when she has to go out. He gets along with his foster sisters and loves to carry his towel around.

OTE: Lynx will have extensive rehab, so he needs to go to a home with limited steps. No apartments or townhouses.

Update (12/02): Lynx has been a wonderful house guest these last two weeks. He's very easy going for a two year old. He gets along with his foster sisters but loves being with his foster mom. He sleeps through the night, doesn't need a crate and is house trained. Like most young dogs, Lynx sometimes will counter surf and trash dive if you're not home so remove all temptation when you leave. He's a real love bug.
