My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Biddy!
Thanks to a generous grant from Maddie's Fund, Momma Biddy's adoption fee is WAIVED!

Biddy is a fabulous, completely joyful, perfect snuggle buddy of a 2-year-old! She still has some puppy in her, and is a happy, lively, affectionate dog. She is very calm in the house and loves to lay by your side, or even on your lap. Belly rubs are a bonus and her favorite. She is very good in the house and can be trusted uncrated.

Outside, she likes to run. Run and survey, as if she's saying "what's going on out here?" She is good with cats. She is good with dogs but would do best with a quick proper introduction. She may not do well with small dogs, as she tends to collide into them, in her excitement. She is good with children, but would need supervision with small children, as she tends to bump into them also.

Biddy is a well mannered, smart girl, and a people-pleaser, and often looks to her favorite people for direction. She does pull on leash and is a strong little 53-lb girl, and her foster family is working to perfect her leash manners.

Biddy gets anxious in new situations, such as activities away from home and car rides, but is learning new situations can be fun and rewarding. Biddy has all the making to be a perfect addition to any family, with continued training, time, love and understanding. She will bring you joy and love.

She is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
