My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Timmy’s adoption fee is $250.

Timmy is a mature Dachshund of 10 plus years. He currently weighs about 12kg (26 lbs), and should lose about 3 lbs. He’s up to date on vaccines, micro chipped and has had a dental (with many teeth removed). Timmy is loving, cuddly and very low energy for the most part. He loves to sleep on nice comfy pet beds during the day, but at night he wants to sleep with his people. He isn’t very playful with other dogs, preferring to cuddle with his human, but seems to enjoy the company of another dog when left at home in the daytime. He’d be best with a companion dog of the same energy level and age, and is more comfortable with small dogs. He could get into trouble if he is alone and left loose, so if no other dog is present, I recommend crating him while you are away. He’ll sometimes go in the crate on his own but will more than likely need coaxing or help going in. I always leave the crate open and he will occasionally go in on his own for a nap.

Timmy is house trained. He loves to do zoomies in the yard when we come home from work, and enjoys going for walks; after his initial excitement of setting out, he walks very nicely. He greets most dogs very well but can get intimidated by large dogs and likes to show them he is bigger than he really is. Timmy enjoys food and I think he could learn tricks, by using treats at a tool. Could he be the perfect companion??
