My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Hobbes, I’m an eight-year-old wirehaired Dachshund. I retired from the commercial breeding industry in November and I’m learning how to be a regular dog now! My foster momma says I’m doing really well with potty-training; I still try to mark everything when we go somewhere new so she has to keep an eye on me but I’m learning: mark outside not inside. My foster momma has also been doing a lot of exercises with me to bring up my confidence. I never knew that retirement would be so much work! Everyone says it’s paying off because I’m more relaxed and snuggly than I used to be. I love nothing better than to sleep-in in the morning and snuggle my foster parents. When I wake up I like to make sure my hair is adequately rumpled for the “just out of bed look” and then kiss my foster momma! My Ideal day is wake up late, style my crazy hair, eat some breakfast and then sit with my human. I’m really looking forward to meeting my forever family. Foster momma says the best applicant for me is going to be a quieter home with no small children, a fenced yard, and a resident dog. I get along with other dogs, big and small, and even cats! Will you be that family? Suggested adoption donation for Hobbs is $300 which goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
