Athena's Story...
Athena is sugar and love and joy. She is happy, playful, loving and energetic. She loves other dogs. She is a wonderful young girl so ready to be a precious addition to someone's family. She might be a little too bouncy for very small children. She weighs about 50-55 pounds, she is tall and lean. She was probably born in 2014 . If you are interested in meeting this sweetheart, please contact Bev at 804-248-3042 or crazydoglady64@aol.com.

Not much is known about Athena, as she is very new to this rescue. She appears to be a one year old boxer mix (born 2014), knows sit and paw and is house-trained, so she was somebody's girl before she was found skinny and Heartworm positive. For now she appears to be frightened of other dogs - cats not tested yet. She is very affectionate with people. She is going to be spayed and Heartworm treated now that she has gained some weight and seems healthy and strong enough. She weighs about 50-55 pounds now and should probably weigh 60-65. If you are interested in meeting this sweetheart, please contact Bev at 804-248-3042 or crazydoglady64@aol.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena, a richmond Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in richmond, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
