Merlot's Story...
Merlot • Female • Hound Mix • 1 year • 40 lbs

Merlot is amazing! She gets along with other dogs, in fact she was used to test other pups at the shelter to see if they're dog friendly back when she was in the shelter.

Merlot is a sweet puppy! Her favorite parts of the day are when she gets to lick you all over the face and lean into you while you pet her. She’s is a lover of all animals people and dogs alike. She gets along with all dogs and is not food aggressive and willing to share with everyone. Over the past three weeks Merlot has learned quite a bit. She is almost completely potty trained and working on leash walking and basic commands (sit, off, down and stay).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merlot, a Chicago Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
