"For the time being, please admire me from afar."

Thurgood is a cat's cat. He loves to be with his feline buddies. Human buddies? He needs a little convincing on that score and who can blame him? Born a feral cat, he came to us after one of his siblings was killed and his sister injured by a dog roaming onto the property where they lived. As far as Thurgood knows, he'll be safe if he can run. And so he keeps a safe distance.

But he is such a sweet boy! For a cat-savvy person who is patient and kind, Thurgood may one day be a nice friend, and maybe even a lap cat. In his foster home, Thurgood's learned to trust familiar faces, and his foster mom sees his soft side. But most other people only see the shy guy. So you have to give him the time he needs to trust, and you will be rewarded with the sweetest friend. Can you help him open his heart just a little further?

About Frisky Whiskers Network, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Frisky Whiskers Network, Inc. was founded in 2006. We are an all-volunteer, nonprofit cat rescue operating in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area. We believe that every cat deserves a chance to have their own human family to know the love and security of a forever home...

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events every weekend from 1-5 pm Saturday and 1-3 pm on Sundays at the Petco store in Kirkwood, Missouri. We also have a few cats who reside at the Petco Kirkwood during the week. (During holidays adoptions are done by appointment only)

To adopt a cat from Frisky Whiskers or to inquire about a particular cat, visit us at an adoption event, email us at friskywhiskers@hotmail.com, or call us at (636) 343-7106 or TEXT to:(314) 477-9038 & (314)780-3325.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask people fill out an adoption application, and we interview applicants. Our goal is to ensure a good fit between cat and humans. Once we have reviewed the application, we require you to complete an adoption contract.

We do not discriminate against anyone for reasons of race, religion, politics, gender, or sexual orientation, but we reserve the right to refuse an adoption based on information we gain during the application process. We try very hard to match our cats' needs and requirements with applicants' lifestyles and circumstances. Our goal is to make every adoption a happy and lasting one!

Our adoption fees cover vet care for emergencies and medical issues in addition to routine care. Before adoption, all animals receive the following care: spay/neuter, vaccinations for FVCRP & rabies, test for felv/fiv, microchip, and treatment for fleas/parasites.

Adoption fees are as follows: 1) senior cats $95, 2) cats 1-7 $125, and 3) under one year $150. We do not intend to imply that senior cats are less valuable; rather, this fee schedule reflects the fact that senior cats tend to come to us already spayed and neutered.
