Tessa's Story...
Tessa is a eight month old Golden/Chow mix. She loves people and other dogs. When she goes to the dog park, she likes to say hi to everyone there. She's crate trained and knows a few basic commands. Tessa's right front paw is flat due to a previous injury. She gets around just fine and the vet says that it doesn't cause her any problems. Tessa has a very sweet temperment. She's interested in cats but in a seven month old puppy way. Tessa is currently in foster care and lives with two other dogs and two cats.

Tessa is current on all her vaccines. She is Microchipped and has been spayed. My adoption fee is 100.00. If you're interested in meeting me please complete our "I'm interested" form or contact our dog coordinator at arcf.dog (at) gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa, a Portland Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Portland, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
