It's me again -- Buddy. Life is pretty good here at my foster home, but I was hoping to start the new year off at what my foster mom calls my "furever" home. As it is, it looks like I'll celebrate turning 9 months old here with my foster family. That's okay. My foster mom says that the wait will be worth it when I find my own people.

I've been doing really good at figuring out what the rules are around here, and kind of feel myself settling down a little. But, I still feel like a puppy a lot of the time. I love to play and got a new toy called a Wobble Ball. OMG, it makes a sound that makes me want to laugh! I whack and roll it and try to bite it and it still keeps making that silly noise.

Another of my favorite things is tugging. I even had a little boy tug with me and he squealed with delight when I pulled him around -- only not too rough. My foster mom told me I was very good. It's fun, too, when bigger people tug with me because then they can pull me around.

Now here's a word from my foster mom.....

Buddy will be 9 months old on Jan. 27th and should pretty much be done growing. He's a tall boy (about 21") and weighs a sturdy 56 pounds. While he does indeed love to play, he is content to hang around with people and loves pets and scratches during his downtime.

Hi,
I'm Buddy, and boy has life changed for me over the last few weeks. First, I left Indiana and moved to Illinois
where I'm staying with my foster mom and two of the cutest little BC girlies ever. I'm telling you -- this place is sooooooooo much fun. There are toys everywhere - upstairs, downstairs, in every room and in the back yard and on the deck. Geez, sometimes I think they just poof up when I turn around. There's also a boy who's about my size who lives next door and we like to play with each other only not with toys -- we just sort of chase each other and do some guy wrestling. Sometimes we just "hang" together sniffing.
The top thing on my Christmas list was for a "furever" home, but my foster mom says that probably won't happen cause people are so busy with the holiday. She told me that it will be okay since she already made me my own stocking and I can share Christmas with her and the little girlies. That sounds great to me, and now we're shooting for a new home for the new year. Wouldn't that be an awesome headline -- "Buddy Starts the New Year In His New "Furever" Home".

Gotta go now. Here are a few words from my foster mom.

Buddy is 8 months old now and has completed the required 3-week stay in foster care, so he is ready any time to go to his "furever" home. His "activity" status has been changed from "TBD" to "Companion" level. Although he loves to play like most BC's and BC mixes, he has a great "off" switch and likes to just hang around with people.

He is housebroken, does not mark, is fully vetting and in excellent health, and has some obedience training. He's very sweet and can also be a big goofy boy.

Buddy is settling in nicely at his foster home and is getting along very well with his foster BC sisters. He's also found a best bud with the neighbor Lab/mix next door and they do "guy stuff" together.

He came into the rescue afraid of men but is quickly overcoming that and will now seek out certain males for play and loves to rough house. He continues to be cautious of new people but warms up quickly when he gets a welcome greeting and/or a treat.

Buddy has had some puppy obedience and knows a number of commands. At 7 months, he tends to want to push the limits like human teen-agers, but it is not hard to get him to settle down and remember his manners.

This big boy has a lot of spunk and loves to play. He learns quickly and responds well when he knows what is expected of him.

Buddy is crate trained and rides nicely in a car. He's received a clean bill of health and probably still has some growing to do -- hence the nickname, Moose.
