Max's Story...
Hi! My name's Max, what's yours?? I am a 7 year old shepherd / lab mix, and am waiting patiently for a family to take me home and love me. I am a super sweet boy, and the people at the shelter say I'm perfect. I'm well behaved, love everyone I meet, and would do well in a home with other dogs and cats. What more could you ask for??

I was recently brought to the shelter after my owner passed away from breast cancer. I really miss her, but I know there's someone out there who will love me just as much as she did. I'm already up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and have a microchip. All I need now is YOU!!

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Youngwood Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
