Etta's Story...
Hi, I’m Etta! I fell on hard times when my previous owner abandoned me at animal control, and I faced a terrible ending. But I am ALIVE today solely because I was rescued by Tenth Life and then welcomed home by my foster mama. I am SO grateful for my turn of events, and show it each and every day by being the most sweet, affectionate, loving, content, purring girl I can be!

I have a special, low-functioning right eye that I was either born with, or sustained an injury to, but I make the most of what I have and can see just fine! I’ve had some issues with overeating in the past, but now I’m working on portion control, exercise, and dropping a few pounds, and overall doing a better job watching my figure! I love both wet and dry food, and am not a picky eater.

I am a super-sweet girl with a very cute personality! I love to try to connect with you by making lots of eye contact (even if I only have one good eye), and I always like making cute girgly noises when I’m talking to you or about things around me.

My foster mom describes me as playful, friendly, snuggly, happy, and laid-back. She hasn’t tried to introduce me to other kitties or children yet, but since I’m pretty easy-going, she suspects I will do great! I am adaptable and accommodating, and just try to get along and take things as they come. I like to be sweet and trusting with others.

My ideal forever home is one with loving and attentive parents who make sure my needs are met each day. I am looking for a family that loves cuddles and will play with me! Most importantly, I want a home where I can trust my family to have my best interest at heart and never neglect, hurt, or abandon me. Will it be you?

Approx. DOB 10/29/2011

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Etta, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
