Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Howie was picked up as a stray in Akron around Thanksgiving and put into foster care about a week later with one of our volunteers. Upon intake Howie had severe flea dermatitis and was underweight. His hair has since grown back for the most part but his skin is still on the dry side, although that is continually improving. He has gained about. 2.5 pounds since coming to the rescue thanks to proper nutrition and care. Unfortunately Howie has only one tooth left (his canine tooth) due to severe dental decay and disease. With that being said, he is on a soft food diet but his lack of teeth doesn't slow him down in eating. He also has a fatty tumor on his chest but the vet has determined that at this time it does not pose a problem to his overall health and it causes him no problems.Howie is a very happy little fella; he loves cuddles and naps under warm blankets. He isn't interested in toys or much playing but he gets along fine with other animals. He is still very much able to walk and get around on his own, he does fine with a few stairs but won't jump on or off furniture. Howie is crated when his foster mom is not home and keeps his crate clean. He doesn't usually signal to go outside during the day but has woken up his foster mom at night to go. He will be most successful if he is just made to go outside in regular increments. Howie would love nothing more than a quiet home with lots of love. Howie's foster mom is happy to answer any further questions or discuss any concerns you may have should you want to make Howie a member of your family.
