Morticia - Adoption Pending's Story...
Morticia is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), black, female, 1 year of age.

Soft as silk, playful and pretty, sweetly impish, and highly social, Morticia is definitely a people cat who revels in loving attention; she shows appreciation for petting and having her short, shiny coat brushed with gentle purrs and head butts. Outgoing and friendly without being too demanding, she likes and gets along with most other cats, and she’s comfortable around well-mannered dogs. Not a cat who is shy about seeking interactive play, Morticia enjoys chasing string toys and trying to catch laser beam lights. Equally content conquering dust bunnies, stalking moving shadows, or exploring on her own or with other like-minded cats, Morticia is, above all else, a Total Love Bug who will be looking for invitations of snuggling and lap-time with her people.

Morticia was rescued from Monroe County Animal Control along with her litter of four (Gomez, Lurch, Pugsley, and Wednesday) and Ophelia, who we believe to be her sister. She has been treated for Giardia, Coccidia, Roundworm, and a flea infestation – She’s now a healthy, happy cat eagerly waiting for her forever home.

Happy-to-be-around, easy-to-please, present, and cheerfully upbeat, Morticia is a great fit for just about any person or family looking for a new and fabulous feline family member. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Morticia currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. Come meet her during store hours, Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 4:00 - 6:00 pm, closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Morticia - Adoption Pending, a Dundee Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Dundee, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Dundee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dundee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dundee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dundee paves the way for another one to be saved.
