My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ophelia is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, 2 years of age.

This golden-eyed, black-haired beauty purrs at the drop of a hat, and she’s looking for a lifelong love connection with a special someone or family. A confident, very sweet and loving young cat who is sometimes bold and sometimes sassy, Ophelia loves to snuggle, she loves attention, and she loves sharing warm affection with “her” people.

Cheerfully upbeat and pretty undemanding, Ophelia is content exploring and playing on her own, but when presented with an opportunity to instigate group play she will most definitely do so. A curious and fairly active young girl, she enjoys vigorous play interaction with people and other kittens or cats, especially if the name of the game is "fetch".

Ophelia has been treated for Giardia, Coccidia, Roundworm, and a flea infestation – She’s now a healthy, happy cat looking for her forever home.

Ophelia is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. She is a social and outgoing cat who gets along well with other compatible cats, and she’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered dogs who respect her space.

As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit will be required prior to adoption.

Ophelia currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. You can meet her Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
