Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter!
Snowflake, at only 15 weeks old and about 9 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 15 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this beautiful puppy with the great temperament ...they rescued Snowflake just in time.
Snowflake is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. She's also incredibly beautiful...with her coal black coloring and striking caramel-colored markings. Snowflake's coat will shine and be cottony-soft once she receives a good, sudsy bath and brushing. We also suggest a regimen of salmon oil for the good health of Snowflake's hair and body. We'll post a photo of the clean and gorgeous Snowflake just as soon as we receive one from her Texas foster.
Snowflake is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart...very typical of the cross of a Schnauzer and a Jack. She's bright, cuddly and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Snowflake is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - she will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with great behavior.
We're open to Snowflake finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Snowflake loves children as well as adults...we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regiment.
Snowflake will be up to date on her vetting. Texas vets feel that she is too young to be spayed. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Snowflake's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vets are used.
Snowflake appears to be an adorable combination of a shedding and a non-shedding breed... she doesn't appear to shed at this point but due to her young age, we don't feel we can guarantee her suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges.
Snowflake is arriving on transport in Boulder on 12/22/15. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet puppy. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
