Hiya! I’m Alfie, what is your name? Nice to meet you. I’m an adoptable 18 week old, miniature poodle with NBS Animal Rescue. Although I am young, and only almost 3lbs –I feel very mighty! Like most puppies, I LOVE to play. In fact, I can run with the big dogs and the cat in my foster home. I do great with other dogs who appreciate my wild sense of play. So far, I’ve been doing great with potty training, and I am working on transitioning from puppy pads to the big outdoors. Of course, I’m just a puppy – so that still needs some fine tuning. Also, I will need a home with kids 7 years and up. It isn’t that I don’t like kids, I love them! I am just very tiny, and pretty irresistible to pick up. It is best that I have a house that is gentle to my little self, but also ready to do some puppy training. I’m still teething, so I need supervision and it does take me awhile to settle in my crate when it’s time for my foster parents to go to work or run errands. I can’t help it, I just love to “talk”!
Aside from my need for a home that loves to play, I would also like someone who doesn’t mind snuggling. My very favorite is to cuddle up on the couch with a soft blanket in the lap of someone who will scratch my ears and rub my tummy. Do you give good tummy rubs, and are you looking for a best friend?

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.
3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
