Guardian Angel Animal Rescue (GAAR) is a no kill, not for profit rescue dedicated to the welfare of abused, neglected, and disabled animals. Primarily a dog and cat rescue, we are a community of volunteers in Southeastern Michigan that have the goal of temporarily sheltering each animal in our houses until a responsible, loving, and permanent home is found. GAAR is firmly against euthanasia as a means of reducing unwanted animals and we accept animals of any age of condition. Both volunteers and pets come to us for that very same reason. We desperately need foster parents for dogs or cats who share the same vision and heart as we do We also are seeking other types of volunteers: we need help with fundraising and the making of crafts, the PetsMart Adoption Center, and other outreach opportunities. Please visit www.gaarmichigan.org for more details or email us.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We usually show our adoptable pets at the Commerce Township PetsMart on Saturdays from 1-4 pm. If interested in meeting a particular dog or cat, please make email firstname.lastname@example.org a few days before to confirm that the pet will be at the showing.
Come see all our beautiful animals that need loving homes!
Our Adoption Process...
All pets are vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped prior to their adoption unless medically noted otherwise. Potential adopters are required to fill out an application and have a GAAR representative complete a home visit before adoption; applicants are then subject to GAAR approval before adoption. Please note that applications are not first-come, first-serve, and instead, pets are placed in homes that we perceive to be the most ideal match for them. Please visit www.gaarmichigan.org/adoptions/ for more details, fees, and application.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
